My company has the requirement to quickly read data provided by customers who are evaluating our application product using Oracle 9i and soon 10g.

We don't want to go through the work of writing interface files each time mapping the data, reformatting it, adjusting to file types etc.

We recently came across a tool called "Periscope". Has any one used this tool created by TUSC? At face value it would appear that it will do the job. It provides bidirectional support for many file formats and "reads" the data virtually. We are concerned about performance, speed and file integrity.

Anybody who has looked at this in the past or used it or something similar please share your thoughts.
