Hello!!

i'am not a english writer, but i need your help.


I have a Server One with Oracle 9i release 2 (Lic. by proccesor)and Server two Oracle 8i (lic. by runtime).

the questions are:

1. if i create dblink between servers i need a licencing aditional for this connection.

2. if i install a oracle client in my machine for administration task whit the Enterprise Manager Console i need a licencing

3. if i have a lic. by proccesor how many database i can create on the machine?

Personally, I make Oracle pay for their own processes(dbwr, lgrw, arch, ...) and database links. So if we have 10,000 licenses I can put 1 on each of 10,000 servers. Mix and match so to speak.

We have a license that is grandfathered in. A concurrent user license and I save a few from production for our developers to use on our test and our datawarehouse databases.

This is legal according to Oracle's contract with us, and the interpitation of Oracle's own sales people.
