In my add or remove programs, there is something named 'Rebate Catcher' It's 1,733.00MB isn't that an awful lot?!

What is this? Is it spyware and should I remove it?? Could this be why my laptop is running really slow?

Don't worry about what is this program. You just think that you don't recognize this program and don't use so you can remove it immediately. Also you are right. Your computer is slow due to this program. Just remove it from ur system.

Supposedly, the Rebate Catcher program, from GreasyPalm, prompts you about available rebates from its partner sites when you are shopping online. I have never tried it. That does sound huge. I suppose you have to weight the performance versus the rebates. If this is your own computer, you should remember downloading it. If it is a shared computer, there may be someone else who is using the program.
