Hi All,

My question is related to Oracle licensing.

If I have a processor based license for a 2 CPU Sun solaris box, can i have two instances of Oracle 8.1.5 and Oracle 9i running on the same machine wiht the same kicense??

Hi,

That shouldn't matter. You can run as many instances on your licensed CPU's as you want.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for the repl;y.. but my other doubt still exists..

If I have one CPU server and I get one processor license then can I use the same license to install 9i DB & 8i db on the same machine..
i.e is the processor based license independent of Oracle DB Server version??
