can't connect database [message #102819]

i remove oracle 8.1.7 and install it again.My database is disappear,but its datafiles is still existence.and my database's oracleservice couldn't start, the message shows " error 3:the system can't find the path specified."
I wonder that i remove some important thing when i remove oracle.

you have to remove your database again and remove the Oracle folder from the partation which you installed the database in it then install the database again
